In the long run artificial plants are going to be more cost-effective. Real plants will eventually die or wither and when that happens, you will need to buy a new one. Artificial plants wouldn't die; so as long as you are not sick of its appearance, you can use it for as long as you want. For example, you can use artificial Christmas tree repeatedly and not waste money on a new one annually.
Easy Maintenance
Artificial plants are not going to grow, so you wouldn't have to look after it everyday; no watering and pruning would be needed. And since it is not going to grow, the space needed would always be constant and it would thus be easier for you to plan your interior decorations. Furthermore, since watering is not necessary, the plants would not attract insects. You wouldn't want to have insects in your house or office, would you?
Health Reasons
Many people are allergic to flower pollens or other substances found in real plants and having artificial plants would solve the problem. Moreover, you do not have to use harmful pesticides on artificial plants. Those pesticides are not just health hazards; they are environmental hazards as well.
Artificial plants are better than real plants when used for interior decorations but they can never replace real plants when it comes to exterior decorations. So do keep some plants outside your house and learn the fun of keeping and looking after real plants.
